4.5.1

PCI Express Mini Card

The carrier board comes with a PCI Express Mini Card connector that supports the Intel
WiMAX/WiFi Link 5050 and Intel WiFi Link 5000 series of wireless devices. The connector
conforms to PCI Express Mini Card Electromechanical Specification 1.1, implementing both
PCI Express and USB interfaces. The PCI-E Mini Card is available only when the related PCI-E
MUX and USB MUX are both set appropriately.

USB

The are four USB 2.0 ports on the board. Two of them could be used for other applications: one
for external USB flash, and the other for a PCI-E Mini Card through a USB MUX device. All USB
2.0 ports support low-speed, full-speed, and high-speed transfer rates using the USB 2.0
Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI).

There are also four USB 3.0 ports from COM Express connector. The USB 3.0 ports support low-
speed, full-speed, and high-speed transfer rates using the USB 3.0 Enhanced Host Controller
Interface (EHCI).

Storage

There are four SATA sockets on the carrier board for connecting to internal SATA 2.0 devices.
