Data transfer  

7.1 

Internal GSM and GPRS modem 

The SIM card must always be correctly inserted as described in chapter 7.1.1. You then proceed according to 
modem version as described in the following chapter. 

7.1.1 

SIM card insertion and unlocking 

a) SIM card insertion 

 

For EK280 with internal power supply, the mains voltage must be switched off before opening the 
housing 

 

 

Danger! 

For EK280 with internal power supply, the mains voltage must be switched off before 
opening the housing, ensure it is not turned back on and verify that there is no voltage. 

 

 

Remove the four screws from the top of the EK280 and open it. 

 

Unplug the modem from the power supply to avoid damage to the modem and SIM card. This 
applies also to an EK280 with power supply which is disconnected from the mains, in case a back-up
