3. Customer sensor assembling
Sensor: 2-wire Pt1000 (RTD1000)
Wiring: Interconnect the 2 wires with the 2 outer pins; interconnect the screen to the
inner pin (optional).
The customer may assemble sensors and sensor cables. For the interconnection use
the DIN M8 female connector please (part no 4914).
We recommend a wire cross-section of >0.5
mm
2
.
To gain an IP67 protection, make
sure that the connector is assembled proper!
4. Battery replacement
A low battery warning is indicated in the logger display (see also chapter 2.1.3. Status
indications) by a blinking “BAT” indicator. If the “BAT” indicator is on continuous, voltage is
low and the battery should be replaced immediately. The battery is located under the
dataloggers base plate.
Warning: a fragile glass reed contact is located near the battery – please don’t
damage it. Handle the datalogger with care during the replacement procedure! We
recommend using a lithium battery (part no 2820) for their optimized long time
characteristics.
4.1 Battery exchange procedure
•
unscrew the four corner screws and remove the base plate
•
remove the old battery by pulling on the latch
•
insert the new battery respecting the correct polarity (see s and – near the
battery holder). If you replace the new battery within 30 seconds, all datalogger settings
will remain. Otherwise the datalogger has to be reprogrammed, especially date and
time. Attention: inserted battery with wrong polarity may damage the datalogger!
•
put the base plate back and screw the four screws onto the datalogger. Be careful by
placing the rubber sealing into the right position. Tighten the screws properly to ensure
the water tightness of the datalogger.
•
connect the datalogger to the PC and program battery replacement. This step is
necessary for a proper battery capacity monitoring.
Old batteries or defective datalogger have to be discharged ecologically!
