IO500 Input module for latched dry
contacts
When programmed as single threshold latched
input module, the device monitors continuously
input 1 and input 2.
If the control equipment is close to the IO500
module (distance less than 10m) input 1 must be
used (Fig. 4), for greater distances and with the
resistance of the wires less than 100

, input 2 will
be used. (Fig. 4a)
Regardless of the used input, the other one
should be correctly terminated with an end-of-line
resistor.
If the end of line resistor is removed, the module
signals fault n° 13 to the control panel whereas
when the input is short-circuited permanently the
an alarm condition will be signalled.
Available options for the input module are multi-
threshold input management and reset output
with programmable time.
Multi-threshold functionality, when enabled by
programming, makes it possible for the control
panel to receive two alarm indications from the
same module, (see indications given in Fig. 5 for
electric connections).
Multi threshold function is available on input 1
only.
Reset output, when enabled by programming,
leads to activation of the relay for a predefined
time (relay ON time) whenever the reset button
(global reset) is pressed on the control panel.
Relay ON time is programmable and can get any
value between 1 and 20 seconds with one-
second steps.
After the reset from the control panel with the
module in external fault, inputs 1 and 2 will not be
checked for the time defined in the Recovery time
which can take the value from 60÷255 seconds.
Factory configuration of the input module for
latched dry contacts is the following:

single threshold operation

reset output enabled

relay ON time = 3 seconds

recovery time = 60 seconds
