The optical channel is the channel through which the laser beam is introduced to the chamber.
This channel is closed by a protection glass (Fig. 7-8) which protects the optical channel from fused particle projections which may
take place during welding operations.
A reticle pointer is engraved on the protection glass and helps aim the laser beam at the welding point.
