2.3.5.5 Grounding the enclosure
All devices feature an extra grounding point on the rear side, as depicted in the figure to the
right (also marked as “7” in
For reasons of safety for people working with the device which, amongst other measures, is
achieved by keeping the leakage current as low as possible, the enclosure must be grounded.
It requires a separate protective earth line (PE), being connected to the grounding point. The
cross section of that line must be at least the same as with the ground conductor in the AC
supply cable.
