PS 2000 B Triple Series
The cables to the load must have a bigger cross section in parallel operation, because the current
at least doubles. Typical laboratory measuring and test cables with 4 mm plugs are usually only
rated up to 10 A and even if two of them are wired in parallel, the full current would flow through
the plugs and heat them.
3.4.11 Output 3
The upper, third output is a special case. It has to be considered completely differently to the other outputs. It’s
meant to be an auxiliary output with a fixed voltage which is barely adjustable (ca. 3 to ca. 6 V) with a trimmer.
That trimmer is placed between the output sockets of output3, behind the front plate and is accessible through a
small hole.
Following applies to output 3:
•
Output 3 is galvanically isolated from the other outputs and current limited, thus short-circuit-proof
•
The green LED indicates constant voltage regulation; if it’s not lit, the load is too high
•
Output 3 must not be connected in series with or parallel to the other outputs
•
In order to have equal potential, output 3 is allowed to be connected on its DC minus pole to the DC minus poles
of the other outputs
•
Output 3 is always on, it can’t be switched off
