INSTALLATION NOTE: CONNECTOR
WIRING GUIDELINES
The input connector contains 4 terminals.
These are numbered and marked on the con-
nector. The label located on the terminal cover
plate list the pin functions. Pins 2 and 3 are the
“+” and “-” inputs to the loudspeaker. Pins 2
and 3 are connected to pins 1 and 4, respective-
ly (Pin 1 connects to Pin 2 and Pin 3 connects to
Pin 4) inside the speaker. Pins 1 and 4 are used
as daisy-chain connections to other loudspeak-
ers. There are two possible layouts for wiring a
group of speakers. Use the wiring pattern that
accommodates your installation best.
To wire the system in parallel, connect the
wire pair of the subsequent speaker to pins 2
and 3 (in parallel with the input wire pair). In
this hookup scheme, no wires get connected
to pins 1 and 4. See wiring diagram in Figure
9. To daisy-chain the wiring using pins 1 and
4, connect the wire pair of the follow-on
speaker to pins 1 and 4. See wiring diagram
in Figure 10.
When all wiring has been completed to the
connector, plug the connector into the socket
in the speaker’s terminal cup. See Figure 11.
Remember to also tighten any open screws to
eliminate and vibration.
Step 4: Secure the Cable to the
Speaker (Figure 12)
Fully loosen the horizontal screw shown in
Figure 11. Then loosen the strain relief screws
(see Figure 11). Run the wires through the open-
ing in the fitting. Depending on whether con-
duit is used in the installation, the strain relief
can be tightened in two ways. Choose whichev-
er is best for your application.
1. If conduit is not used in the installation,
slide the wiring through the strain relief fit-
ting on the terminal cover plate (Figure 12).
