vertical mounting.
For many rectifiers, the rear upper right corner of the rectifier is an optimal
location for mounting. If the rectifier is too small, the assembly will need to be mounted inside a
separate weatherproof NEMA 4-X enclosure.
B. Drill the necessary holes and mount the assembly using #10 X 3/4
” machine screws and nuts.
C. Cut two pieces of #4 AWG THHN cable to length. They will be connected from the mercury
relay terminals to two transformer terminal lugs on the front side of the rectifier. Strip
app
roximately ¾” insulation off each end.
D. Crimp a #4 AWG ring terminal on one end of each of the two pieces of #4 cable.
E. Remove the shorting bar from the coarse or fine transformer lugs and install the two lengths of
#4 cable on each terminal bolt that previously held the shorting bar.
F. Attach the other ends of the #4 cable to the terminal clamps on the mercury relay. Make sure
that the top cable is routed through the round hole on the current sensor on the circuit board.

Step 11: Install the GPS Antenna
A. Drill or use a screwdriver to make a small hole in the underside vent mesh that is at the top part
of the rectifier.
B. Insert the connector end of the GPS antenna and string it through the rectifier. Install a
grommet through the metal mesh or wrap electrical tape around the small cable to protect it
from the metal.
C. Mount the magnetic backed GPS antenna in a place where it will be secure and have a good
view of the sky.

Step 12: Install the Interrupter II Mesh Module (NTG-01-0006-
XX)
A. Determine where the Interrupter Mesh Module will be mounted and secure it using #8 machine
screws or self-tapping screws.
B.
Crimp ring terminals with 3/8” diameter holes to the 2 conductor power cable attached to the
Interrupter Module. Attach these to the two transformer tap terminals that were identified in
Step 2 that produced 12
– 18 volts AC.
C. Attach the GPS antenna and the Rectifier Switch cable to the module.
D. Coil up excess cable and use twist ties or cable ties to dress neatly.
E. NOTE: The interrupter installation can be tested by performing the following procedure:
a. Remove the lid of the Interruption Module
b. Turn on the power to the system and wait 25 seconds
c. Press and hold the User Switch SW1 for 3 seconds
until the green “power” LED lights
then release the button. Within 5 seconds or so, the system should start an interruption
cycle of 4 seconds ON, 1 second OFF.
d. Verify that the rectifier current is actually being interrupted by observing the ammeter on
the rectifier.
