13 STATISTICS
Your Covermeter has a Statistics feature which calculates and displays a statistical analysis of
readings as they are taken.
Statistics values are also calculated for the readings within a batch and these values are stored in
the batch.
To enter a reading into the statistical analysis while you are taking measurements, press [
].
Table 1: Calculated statistics values
Number of
Readings
The running value for the number of readings taken in a group.
Mean
The average of a group of readings; the sum of the individual
readings divided by the number of readings.
Standard
Deviation
A statistical measure of the spread of values in a group of
readings.
Coefficient of
Variation
The standard deviation divided by the mean for a group of
readings, expressed as a percentage.
Lowest
Reading
The value of the lowest reading taken in a group.
Highest
Reading
The value of the highest reading taken in a group.
Under range
The number and percentage of readings under range.

Low limit
The number and percentage of readings below the low limit.
Within limits
The number and percentage of readings within limits.
/
High limit
The number and percentage of readings above the high limit.
Over range
The number and percentage of readings over range (or infinite).
Blank
readings
Number and percentage of blank readings (skipped/not recorded/
deleted).
