To connect the cable connector on the mike side, set the key groove and insert the plug
straight until it is firmly locked.
To disconnect the cable connector, pull the plug out while firmly pressing the lock release
button. The plug is compatible with Cannon XLR-3 or Switchcraft A3F.
To operate the microphone, make sure that the switch on the grip is set to ON.
If not, the microphone is short circuited and does not operate.
Unlike an electret condenser microphone, the dynamic KD-818 does not require any
power supply. Hence, the ON OFF switching function has nothing to do with battery
consumption.
The KD-818 is an extremely rugged microphone, and can withstand a wide range of
temperature and humidity variations without damaging the microphone element.
Nevertheless, take great care not to let foreign particles enter the windscreen.
If exposed to an environment in which there is small iron or steel filings (on a workbench,
for example), these line metal particles can accumulate on the diaphragm by the strong
magnetic attraction and reduce high frequency response.
The windscreen can be turned counterclockwise to detach it from the frame In any event
except for maintenance or repair work, do not disassemble the windscreen.
