PCA/PCEA/PIEB Bolus Handle

The remote bolus handle enables patients to deliver boluses on demand (under
clinician's programmed limits). The bolus is requested by pressing the button on the
handle, eliminating the need for patient interaction with the function keys on the
pump.
When pressing the bolus handle, an auditory signal will be generated. This option can
be configured on the pump. For more information refer to

Configuring Audio Settings

Bolus Handle

Connect the bolus handle by attaching it to the socket at the bottom of the pump.
Make sure that the white arrows on the cable connector are facing up (arrows on the
bolus cable towards the arrow on the pump).,

When using a mini cradle, the blue-buttoned bolus handle must be
connected directly to the pump.
When using a gray-buttoned bolus handle, it may be connected to
any port; but the communication cable should not be connected
simultaneously.
If a blue-buttoned bolus handle is switched to a gray-buttoned
bolus handle the treatment must be re-stared.
