5. Before starting the equipment
Before you connect the equipment to the mains
supply make sure that the data on the rating plate
are identical to the mains data.
Warning!
Always pull the power plug before making
adjustments to the equipment.
The plug on the power tool must
fi
t into the
socket. The socket must not be modi
fi
ed in
any way. Do not use adapter plugs with pow-
er tools that have a grounded plug.
Unmodi
fi
ed plugs and matching sockets will redu-
ce the risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces
such as pipes, heating systems, stoves and
refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of elec-
tric shock if your body is grounded.
If you use an electric power tool outdoors,
use only extension cables that are suitable
for outdoor use.
The use of an extension cable
which is suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk
of electric shock.
If you cannot avoid using the power tool in a
damp location, use a residual current device
(RCD) circuit breaker.
The use of a residual current device (RCD) circuit
breaker will reduce the risk of electric shock.
We recommend that you connect the hedge
trimmer only to an electricity source protected by
a residual current device (RCD) breaker with a
maximum trip current of 30 mA.
Assembly of the equipment (Fig. 3a-3d)
Remove the fastening screws (Fig. 3b/Item C)
from the steady grip (Fig. 2/Item 2) to take the
steady grip apart. Fit the top section (Fig. 3a/
Item A) and the grip section (Fig. 3b/Item B) back
together on the long handle and
fi
t the 4 screws
(Fig. 3b/Item C) again. Insert the extension pole
(Fig. 3c/Item 9) into the mount on the motor unit
(Fig. 3c/Item 11) and secure it by tightening the
union nut (Fig. 3d/Item A).
Adjusting the telescopic long handle (Fig. 4)
Open the locking lever (Fig. 4/Item A) by
fl
ipping
it up and then adjust the long handle to the length
you require. Secure the long handle in this posi-
tion afterwards by
fl
ipping the locking lever back
down.
Adjusting the tilt angle (Fig. 5)
Important:
Disconnect the power plug before you
adjust the tilt angle!
The cutting blade can be tilted to make the work
as easy as possible.
To do so, press the button (Fig. 5/Item 13) and
hold it down. Set the required angle and then
release the button. Make sure that the tilt angle
adjuster latches in place correctly
Fitting the shoulder strap
Important:
Always use the shoulder strap when
working with the hedge trimmer. Switch o
ff
the
equipment before you take o
ff
the shoulder strap.
There is a risk of injury.
1. Hook the carabiner into the strap holder as
shown in Fig. 6/Item G.
2. Slip the shoulder strap over your shoulder.
3. Adjust the length of the shoulder strap so that
the strap attachment is at waist level and you
can work without fatigue.
Note:
The shoulder strap is equipped with a safety
release (Fig. 6/Item with which you can quickly
detach the shoulder strap in case of danger.
To operate the safety release, pull it upwards.
6. Operation
Connect the hedge trimmer power cable to the
plug (Fig. 7/Item B) and secure the power cable
(Fig. 7/Item A) with the strain-relief clip (Fig. 7/
Item 4).
On/O
ff
switch
Important!
To prevent accidental start-up, the
hedge trimmer is equipped with a safety switch
(Fig. 7/Item 8) which must be pressed before the
ON/OFF switch (Fig. 7/Item 7) can be pressed.
If the ON/OFF switch is released, the equipment
switches o
ff
. Repeat this process several times,
so that you are sure that your equipment functions
properly.
Please watch out for the cutters as they slow
down to a standstill.
•
Please check that the cutters work properly.
The twin-bladed cutters rotate in opposite
directions, thus guaranteeing high cutting
performance and smooth operation.
