Using the E-85A

(If applicable) On the monitor, log in.
Type
Fiery.1
exactly. The password is case-sensitive; for example,
fiery.1
will not work.
If it is not the first time the E-85A has been started after installing system software, the site administrator may have set
a different user name and password. The site administrator at the customer site must provide you with the correct user
name and password to enable your logon to the system (the password is case-sensitive and must be typed exactly).
Note:
If the password is lost, you must reinstall all system software (see page 100 ).

Wait for Fiery Ticker to display and reach Idle (requires approximately 3 minutes).

If Command WorkStation starts automatically, connect to the E-85A with Administrator privileges.
If Command WorkStation was connected to the E-85A during the previous session, the connection may be
reestablished automatically.
If the E-85A is currently disconnected, select the
E-85A
from the
Servers List
and click
Connect
. Choose
Administrator
from the User menu, type
Fiery.1
in the Password field, and then click
Login
.
Note:
Fiery.1 is the default password required to connect to the E-85A with Administrator privileges. The password can be
changed in E-85A Setup. For more information, see Configuration and Setup , which is part of the user documentation set.
To shut down, restart, or reboot from the monitor

Make sure that the E-85A is not receiving, processing, or printing any files.
If the system just finished processing, wait at least five seconds after the system reaches Idle before you proceed.

Close all applications except Fiery Ticker.

Do one of the following:

Click the
Windows Start
button, click
Power
icon, and select
Shut down
.
• Click the
Windows Start
button, click
Power
icon, and select
Restart
.
•
Click “>>” icon in the Fiery Ticker and select
Server Actions
>
Restart Fiery
. Click
OK
.

If you shut down the E-85A, move the E-85A power switch to the off (O) position for maximum energy savings or
service (wait 10 seconds before you proceed).
