Capturing Video Material

You can adjust the color of video material by double-clicking it. You can do this

regardless of whether the video material is in the Material palette, or placed on the

Timeline Palette or Storyboard Palette. All color-corrected material can be played

back in real time.

Color correction carried out in the Material palette is maintained even when the material is

placed on the Timeline Palette or Storyboard Palette, or when it is split. It’s best that

operations such as color matching for material shot with more than one camera and

adjustment of white balance be performed immediately after capturing the material. This

enables later editing tasks to be carried out more efficiently.

Turn on “COLOR CORRECTION”

Go to the upper right and click the “COLOR CORECTION” option to turn it on,

making it light up red.

You can switch color correction on and off by going to the Detail View window and clicking

the “Color Correct” button. The values of the adjustment items do not change when color

correction is off. This is useful when you want to compare the original color of a material with

the color after correction.

Perform color correction.

The following adjustment items (parameters) are available. Change and adjust these

items as required.

Play it back to verify it.

In the Detail View window, click the “Play” button to perform playback and check

the effect. If necessary, go back to step 3 and change the parameters.

Color Correction Feature

BRIGHTNESS

Raising this makes the picture brighter. Lowering it makes the picture darker.

CONTRAST

Raising this increases the differences between light and dark areas in the picture.
Lowering it reduces the differences between light and dark in the picture.

SATURATION

Raising this increases the color depth of the picture. Lowering it all the way
produces a monochrome picture.

RED

Raising this makes red colors in the picture more prominent.

GREEN

Raising this makes green colors in the picture more prominent.

BLUE

Raising this makes blue colors in the picture more prominent.
