VIII. Lockdown Mode and Forgotten PIN
If the PIN is entered incorrectly ten consecutive times, the SE847 Secure will enter
Lockdown
Mode
and the following will occur:
a)
All data stored on the device will be formatted/erased
b)
The PIN will be reset to 112233
c)
When connected to a computer, you will be asked to format the device
If you forget your PIN, there is no way to retrieve it. In order to continue using the SE847
Secure, you must either purposely enter the PIN incorrectly ten times
(erasing all data and
resetting the PIN)
, or follow the below instructions.
WARNING: All data stored on the SE847
Secure will be erased by proceeding with these instructions.
1.
Press and hold the
number 9 key
and
unlock key
simultaneously for three seconds until
the
red and green indictors
are on.
2.
Release the
number 9 key
and
unlock key
– the
red and green indicators
will begin
flashing.
3.
Enter
110
on the keypad.
4.
Press and hold the
unlock key
.
5.
Release the
unlock key
– the
red and green indicators
will turn off, confirming that the
PIN has been reset to 112233.
6.
Upon next insertion into a computer, you will be asked to format the drive. Please
proceed with the format to begin using the SE847 Secure again.
