6. SET-UP
6.1.
Recommended test equipment
The HELIOS Junior transmitter is conceived to work with standard equipment (50 ohms).
•
Traditional tools (flat and cross screwdrivers, pliers, etc).
•
POZIDRIV N°0 and N°1 screwdriver.
•
Digital
multimeter.
•
50 ohms load (30W minimum).
•
Power wattmeter (30W minimum).
•
500 MHz spectrum analyzer, 1KHz resolution.
•
BF / Multiplex Generator
•
FM receiver (receiver, portable or auto radio) for quality check of the program.
6.2.
Set-up
The HELIOS Junior transmitter set-up is simple. However it is important to follow recommendations
described in chapter 5 ‘Installation’.
The transmitter is switched off. Set the minimum power turning the potentiometer (RF POWER) counter
clockwise. Turn the screwdriver 20 times to reach the minimum RF gain.
Switch on the HELIOS Junior transmitter using the back panel switcher.
The LCD display is turned on, the following messages appear:

Self Test
Launch of the internal auto test.
R210XXxx
HELIOS JUNIOR
Indicates software version.
BOOTING
HELIOS JUNIOR
Initialization of operation parameters.
When first switched on, the equipment is set by default on the set-up menu.
The green indicator (LOCK) lightens up when the synthesizer is blocked.
The red indicators of the alarm must be off: HF (RF 3dB) & VSWR. If it is not the case, please go to
chapter 7.2 ‘Repair’.
If you want to set every parameter of your transmitter, follow the instructions in chapter 6.2.1 ‘Setting of
