Installation and Startup of Combi Gateway

6.2.2 High speed (fast) connection - CI 3000 / CI 3100 only
The high speed CAN bus coupling increases the data transmission rate between store computer and Combi
Gateway.
The connection to the CAN bus of the LDS system is made via the CAN1 interface. For the high speed connec­
tion, the Combi Gateway is directly connected to the store computer via the CAN2 interface.
In this case, the data exchange with the store computer is performed at approx. 250 kbit:
Procedure
Step 1: Before the first start-up, the Combi Gateway must be connected to the CAN bus of the LDS system via
the COMBICON connector (CAN1 interface) on the top right on the device.
Only if the Combi Gateway is installed at the end of the CAN bus segment,
the terminating resistor of the CAN1 interface must be set to ON using the DIP switch CAN Term1;
see chapter 6.2.3 for details.
Step 2: Settings on the store computer:
- the store computer must be equipped with the firmware V5.0 or higher
- the parameter

Step 3: The Combi Gateway is connected to the CAN bus terminals of the store computer using the connection
cable (order number KABHICAN2M) at the RJ45 connector (CAN2 interface) on the front panel of the device.
Connect the open end of the cable to the store computer’s COMBICON plug, whose terminals (3 and 4) must be
fitted with the resistor (100 Ohm). Recommendation: For assembly use the terminal set with integrated 100 Ohm
terminating resistor, order number KGLCANTERM, see chapter 7.1.3 for details.
The terminating resistor of the CAN2 interface of the Combi Gateway must be set to ON using the
DIP switch CAN Term2; see chapter 6.2.3 for details.
