MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE NOTES:
1. Low evaporative fuel tanks DO NOT require regular maintenance to
maintain emission integrity.
2. See your dealer for maintenance.
3. Replacement is recommended based on the finding of damage or wear
during inspection.
Air Filter
Level 1.
1.
Close choke (COLD START
[
] position). This prevents
dirt from entering the carburetor
throat when the air filter is
removed. Brush accumulated
dirt from air cleaner area.
2.
Remove air filter cover. Brush
dirt from inside cover.
3.
Remove air filter and lightly brush debris from filter. Replace filter if it is
damaged, fuel soaked, very dirty, or the rubber sealing edges are
deformed. Clean the filter with a neutral detergent. Do not use solvents
for cleaning.
4.
If filter can be reused, be certain:
• The entire frame of the filter is securely seated in the housing.
