Materials which you may or may not use in the microwave oven
Utensils and
dishes
Notes
Aluminum foil
Only for shielding of small parts. It is possible to use small pieces for shielding meat or poultry from burning.
If
the foil is too close to the oven walls, arcing may occur.
The foil must be at least 2.5 cm away from the oven
walls.
Baking dishes
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. The bottom of the baking dish must be at least 5mm away from the
oven’s glass tray. Improper use may cause breakage of the tray.
Plates
Use only the types designed for microwave ovens. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not use cracked
or chipped plates.
Glass vessels
Always remove the lid. Use only to heat food to correct temperature. Most of glasses are not heat resistant and
may break.
Glass dishes
Use only glass, which is heat resistant. Make sure that the dish does not contain metal parts. Do not use cracked
or chipped plates.
Baking bags
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not close with metal clamps. Leave space for steam to escape.
Paper plates and
cups
Use only for short period heating. Do not leave the oven unattended during the heating.
Paper towels
Use to cover the food against drying out and to drain fat. Use only for short period and do not leave the oven
unattended.
Baking paper
Use to cover the food when stewing it and to prevent splashing.
Plastics
Use only the types designed for microwave ovens. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. They must be
labelled “Microwave Safe” etc. Some containers may soften after their contents are heated. It is necessary to
puncture or cut cooking bags and tightly sealed packages in advance according to package directions.
Plastic wrap
Use only the types designed for microwave ovens. Use it against drying out of food during preparation. The
plastic wrap must not touch the food.
Thermometers
Use only the types specifi ed for microwave ovens (meat and bread thermometers).
Wax paper
Use to preserve moisture and prevent liquid from splashing.
Aluminum trays
They cause arcing. Transfer the food into another dish, suitable for microwave heating.
Food packaging
with metal parts
They cause arcing. Transfer the food into another dish, suitable for microwave heating.
Metal and metal
containing dishes
The metal shields the food from the microwaves. The metal parts cause arcing.
Metal clips and
wires
Metal causes arcing, it can melt and there is danger of fi re.
Paper bags
They can set the oven on fi re.
Foam plastics
Foam plastics can melt and contaminate the content when exposed to high tempreature.
Wood
Wooden objects warm up, dry out and may crack or break.

1. Never insert the glass tray upside down. The turntable must always
rotate freely.
2. Never use the oven without the roller ring and the glass tray.
3. All the food and their containers must be put on the glass tray.
4. If the glass tray or the roller ring is damaged, contact the closest
authorized service center.
