Translation of the original operating instructions

Mains supply voltage
faulty

Check mains supply
voltage,
restore power
supply,
apply control signal.

Faulty connection

De-energise, correct
connection, see
connection diagram.

Thermal overload
protector responded

Allow motor to cool
off, locate and rectify
cause of error, if
necessary cancel
restart lock-out

Overtemperature of
electronics/motor

Insufficient cooling

Improve cooling. Let
the device cool down.
To reset the error
message, switch off
the mains supply
voltage for a min. of
25 s and switch it on
again.

Ambient temperature
too high

Reduce the ambient
temperature.
Reset by reducing
control input to 0.

Unacceptable
operating point

Correct the operating
point. Let the device
cool down.

If you have any other problems, contact ebm-papst.

6.1 Cleaning

NOTE
Damage to the device during cleaning

Malfunction possible
→ Do not clean the device using a water jet or high-pressure

cleaner.# Do not use any acid, alkali or solvent-
basedcleaning agents.# Do not use any pointed or sharp-
edged objects for cleaning

Notes on cleaning

Check the device at regular intervals, paying particular attention to
smooth running and dust deposits at the impeller and motor housing.

The accumulation of dust, particularly at the motor housing and
impeller and/or severe vibration could destroy the fan! In such cases
immediately switch off and clean the fan.

Immediately shut down and replace the device if severe corrosion is
apparent at loadbearing or rotating parts. Repairs to loadbearing or
rotating parts are not permissible!

Only clean when stationary, disconnect the power supply and secure
against starting.

Use is never to be made of corrosive cleaning agents!

Only ever apply a water jet to the rotor side, never to the motor side!

Never aim the water jet at the condensate drain hole when doing so.
Maximum water pressure 80 bar!

After cleaning, run the fan for at least one hour at maximum speed.

If provided, make sure the condensate drain hole is not clogged by dirt.

If cleaning does not eliminate vibration, the fan may have to be re-
balanced. In such cases please contact ebm-papst.

The fan is provided with maintenance-free ball bearings. The lifetime
lubrication of the ball bearings is designed for a service life of 40,000
hours. Please contact ebm-papst if bearing replacement is required
after this period.

Adapt the maintenance intervals to the dust pollution occurring.

6.2 Safety test

NOTE
High-voltage test

The integrated EMC filter contains Y capacitors. Therefore, the
trigger current is exceeded when AC testing voltage is applied.
→ Test the device with DC voltage when you carry out the

high-voltage test required by law. The voltage to be used
corresponds to the peak value of the AC voltage required by
the standard.

What has to
be tested?

How to test?

Frequency

Which
measure?

Check the
protective
casing against
accidental
contact for
damage and to
ensure that it is
intact

Visual inspection At least every

6 months

Repair or
replacement of
the device

Check the
device for
damage to
blades and
housing

Visual inspection At least every

6 months

Replacement of
the device

Mounting the
connection lines

Visual inspection At least every

6 months

Fasten

Check the
insulation of the
wires for damage

Visual inspection At least every

6 months

Replace wires

Tightness of
screwed cable
gland

Visual inspection At least every

6 months

Retighten,
replace if
damaged

Condensate

6.3 Disposal

For ebm-papst, environmental protection and resource preservation are
top priority corporate goals.
ebm-papst operates an environmental management system which is
certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and rigorously implemented
around the world on the basis of German standards.
Right from the development stage, ecological design, technical safety
and health protection are fixed criteria.
