Isolation MCCBs or MCSWs are not interlocked.
Bypass MCCBs are interlocked with Key 3 :
Only one bypass should be closed at a time (to
prevent cross-connecting both sides).
Source 1 MCCB and Bypass 2 MCCB/MCSW are
interlocked with
Key 1 :
If Source 1 MCCB is closed,
Bypass 2 MCCB/MCSW must be open.
If Source 1 is open, Bypass must be closed.
Source 2 MCCB and Bypass 1 MCCB are interlocked
with
Key 2 :
If Source 2 MCCB is closed,
Bypass 1 MCCB/MCSW must be open.
If Source 2 is open, Bypass 1 is closed.
Bypass Mode is entered by physically setting up the MCCBs and MCSWs to go to bypass. The STS has key-
interlocked bypass MCCBs/MCSWs allowing logic to be disconnected from power sources without interrupting
output load power (
Figure 17 ). Engaging the bypass and returning from bypass to STS normal mode both
require the operator to manipulate Kirk Keys and MCCBs or MCSWs.
