Step 2: Mount backplate

Note: During installation, protect the electronics

against water to avoid damage.

1.  Using the template provided, drill the wall

to accept the three fixing screws and the

tamper foot cup (Figure 5).

Note: Two extra tamper feet are provided;

each has a different shaft length to allow for

different wall surfaces. You can prise off the

existing foot using a small screwdriver.

2.  Remove the front cover as follows:

a.  Loosen the locking screw on the front of

the cover.

b.  On each side of the mounting base,

insert the opening tool into the slot and

twist to separate the cover from the

mounting base.

c.  Remove the cover (the cover hinges

from the top).

3.  Remove the 3 securing screws located along

the top edge of the detector assembly, and

remove the assembly from the backplate. Put

the loose back-tamper spring to one side.

4.  Screw the backplate to the wall (screw

through the thin areas of plastic on the

mounting base). Make sure the tamper foot

engages correctly into the cup.

Step 3: Add/configure detector

1.  Fit the batteries. Observe correct polarity:

large “+” and “–” symbols are marked on

the PCB.

2.  Use the relevant Installer options at the

control unit to:
a.  Learn a new radio detector (when

prompted, activate one of the tamper

switches at the detector).

b.  Program the zone as required.

For further information, please refer the

Engineering Guide.

3.  Remain in the Installer menu (while the cover

of the detector is off).

4.  If required, use the local programming

options to configure the range or pulse count

(see “Local programming options”).

Step 4: Refit and align detector

1.  Fit the back-tamper spring in place, then

secure the detector assembly to the

backplate with the 3 screws.

2.  Align the detector by rotating and/or tilting

the detector assembly by hand as required.

If required, apply masking to mask areas you

do not want to monitor (see “Masking”).

If pet tolerance is needed, remove the

batteries, then use a pair of long-nose pliers

to remove the metal creep mirror (Figure 7).

Refit the batteries.
