6. Gently tilt the circuit board up along the fan edge of the board

and remove the video cable, inverter cable and touchscreen
cable. See

Figure 11

. The CPU circuit board is now free from

the unit.

7. Remove the standoffs from the four corners of the display plate

along with the screws from the inverter board. The screws for
the inverter board require a small Phillips-head screwdriver. See

Figure 12

.

8. Gently pull the touchscreen cable through the opening in the

display plate and remove the front panel. Lay it aside.

9. Unplug the backlight cable from the connector on the left side of

the inverter board.

Note:

A standoff has been placed next to the backlight connector to

prevent the cable from disconnecting from the inverter. The inverter
has to be removed in order to disconnect the backlight cable.

10. Remove the four corner screws of the display. See

Figure 13

As you remove the display from the display plate, be careful to
disconnect the video cable by pulling straight back on the display.
Also be careful to gently pull the backlight cable through the
opening in the plate.

11. With the display module facing down, remove the backlight

cartridge by unscrewing the two screws holding the backlight
cartridge to the display module and sliding gently apart about 1/8
inch and then lifting up.

Figure 14

 shows the backlight removed.

12. Gently and carefully, place the new backlight cartridge into the

display module, slide into position, and reattach the screws.
Make sure the backlight cable is not crimped when you reattach
the screws.

Cleaning:

Clean off any fingerprints or dirt that may have gotten on

the inner display surface or the backside of the front panel.

13. Reattach the video cable to the video connector on the display

module. See

Figure 14

.

14. Insert the backlight cable through the opening.

15. Reattach the display to the display plate. See

Figure 13

.

16. Reattach the display plate to the front panel, making sure to feed

the touchscreen cable through the opening in the plate. See

Figure 12

17. Reattach the backlight cable to the inverter board. Ensure that

the two wires are on either side of the small white standoff. See

Figure 12

.

18. Reattach the inverter board. See

Figure 12

.

19. Reconnect the inverter power cable to the inverter if it was

removed. Make sure the cable is routed through the cable clip.
See

Figure 12

.

20. Reconnect the video cable, the inverter cable and the touch-

screen cable to the CPU circuit board. See

Figure 11

.

21. Reinstall the CPU circuit board. See

Figure 10

.

22. Reattach the power supply and reconnect the power connectors.

Also reattach the fan bracket if the unit is an Outdoor Series
model. See

Figure 9

.

23. Reattach the standoffs in the four corners of the CPU circuit

board. See

Figure 8

.

24. Verify that all previous connections are in place and that all wires

are inside the edges of the display plate. Reinstall the chassis
cover. See

Figure 7

.
