Proper use
• This product is intended to decorate outside areas around the
house, terrace, balcony and garden. The rechargeable battery
charges during the daytime via the solar cell
fi
eld. The accu-
mulated energy allows the LED lights to illuminate in the dark.
• The product is designed for private use and is not intended for
commercial use.
• Only use the product as instructed. Any other use is deemed
improper.
• Defects arising due to improper handling, damage or attempts
at repair are excluded from the warranty. This also applies to
normal wear and tear.
Important notes

Attention! Danger of suffocation! Keep the packaging material
away from children and animals.
■
The product is not a toy! Keep children and animals away from
the product to avoid injury.
■
Do not look directly into the light emitted by the LEDs. It is very
bright. Your eyes could be injured.
■
Do not disassemble the product (except for removing the re-
chargeable battery prior to disposal of the solar unit). Only
have the product repaired by a quali
fi
ed workshop or by cus-
tomer service.
■
If a rechargeable battery leaks, make sure that the battery acid
does not come into contact with your skin, eyes and mucous
membranes. In case of contact with battery acid, rinse the af-
fected areas immediately with plenty of clean water and seek
immediate medical attention.
■
Rechargeable batteries may not be disassembled, disposed of
in
fi
re, immersed in liquids or short circuited.
■
Do not allow the product to fall and do not subject it to severe
percussions.
■
Do not use the product if it exhibits visible damages.
■
Never submerge the product in water or other liquids! It is only
splash-proof.
■
To enable an automatic activation of the LED lights, the prod-
uct may not be situated near other light sources such as street
lamps or other lamps.
■
If you do not intend to use the product for a prolonged period,
turn it off and store it in a dry place.
■
Ensure that the solar
fi
eld is clean to ensure the greatest pos-
sible collection of light. Therefore, clean it occasionally with a
damp cloth.
■
Do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners to clean the
product! They could damage the surface.

Putting into Operation
• Before the spotlights can light up, the batteries of the
solar units must be charged up for approx. 6 to 8 hours.
• The ground spikes are located upside down in the
shafts of the solar lamps when they are delivered!
1. Unpack the items supplied and remove all possible protective
fi
lms (e.g. from the solar panel).
2. Check all parts for possible transport damage. If you
fi
nd any
transport damage, contact the customer service department
immediately.
3. Place the snowy owl onto the LED mounting bracket of the
solar light unit.
4. Connect the stem to the solar light unit and the blunt end of the
ground spike.
5. Switch on the solar light unit using the slide switch on the bot-
tom of it: Move it to the
ON
position to switch on the solar unit
6. Position the article in a place where the solar panels can receive
direct sunlight for as much of the day as possible (ideally in an
open area, not under trees etc.). Stick the ground spikes into the
soil and make sure that they are
fi
rmly anchored in the ground.
7. Tilt the solar panel up and direct it towards the sun. The battery
of the solar unit can now charge up in daylight. When darkness
sets in, the light automatically switch on. When it gets light, it
switches off and the battery is charged up via the solar panel.
8. To switch off the solar unit, move the On/Off switch to the
OFF
position.
Disposal
The packaging material is recyclable. Dispose of the pack-
aging in an environmentally-friendly manner and make it
available to the collection service for recyclable materials.
Dispose of the product in an environmentally-friendly
manner. The product does not belong in the household
garbage. Dispose of it at a recycling centre for old electric
and electronic equipment. For more information, please
contact the administration in your community.
The rechargeable battery must be removed and disposed
of separately from the product before disposing of the
product. To do this, unscrew the bottom part of the hous-
ing of the solar lamp unit and take out the batteries.
To protect the environment, batteries and rechargeable
batteries may not be disposed of together with normal
household waste. Instead they must be turned in at ap-
propriate collection points. Please also observe applicable
statutory provisions regulating the disposal of batteries.
