Use only the battery type speci

 ed in the “Technical Data”.

 

Take batteries out of the article when they are dead or if the 
article is not going to be used for a prolonged period. This will 
prevent any damage if a battery leaks.

 

Batteries must not be recharged or reactivated by other means, 
dismantled, thrown into a 

fi

 re, immersed in 

fl

 uids, or short-cir-

cuited.

 

Protect the article from: impacts, heat, direct sunlight, sub-zero 
temperatures, moisture and wet conditions.

 

Do not place any containers 

fi

 lled with liquid, for example vas-

es, directly next to the article.

 

The article should 

not

 be operated via a computer, because the 

high charging current could damage the computer.

 

Make sure that the USB cable does not become squashed or 
bent and does not come into contact with hot surfaces.

 

Do not make any changes to the article and do not attempt to 
repair it. In the event of any damage, please contact our cus-
tomer service department. The individual LEDs cannot be re-
placed.

Inserting / Changing Batteries

Insert three 1.5 V batteries, C, Baby type into the battery 
compartment on the back side of the lantern before you 

fi

 rst use it. These are not supplied with the article.

Before inserting the batteries, check whether the contacts are 
clean and clean them if necessary.
1.  Open the battery compartment: Grip and press down the lock-

ing lug on the battery compartment cover. Lift up the cover at 
the same time.

2.  Insert three 1.5 V batteries of the C, Baby type into the battery 

compartment. Ensure the correct polarity  (+ / –).

3.  Reattach the battery compartment cover and press it shut. 

When you do this, make sure that the locking lugs sit in the 
recesses which are provided for them. You must hear and feel 
it engage.

Replace the batteries when the power of the lights starts to wane. 

PLEASE NOTE!

 Always replace all batteries together. Do not use 

batteries of different types or brands, or batteries with different 
capacities.

Putting Into Operation

1.  

Unpack – 

Check the items supplied for completeness (see 

the “Items Supplied” section) and possible transport damage. 
If you 

fi

 nd any damage to the components, do not use them (!), 

but contact our customer service department.

2.  

Set up –

 Set the article up on a 

fl

 at, dry surface.

3.  

Insert batteries / use USB cable –

 Insert batteries into the 

article (see the “Inserting / Changing the Battery” section). 
If the article is to be operated with the USB cable, connect the 
end with the barrel connector to the barrel connector input on 
the article and connect the other end with the USB connector to 
a power source, e.g. via a suitable mains adapter that supplies 
at least 1 A (not supplied with the article) at a plug socket.

4.  

Switch  on / off  –

 To switch on the article, press the On / Off 

switch on the back side of the article to position

To switch the article off again, press the On / Off switch to posi-
tion

The article switches off automatically after 6 hours. It can 
be switched on again at any time by pressing the On / Off 
switch twice (position

Cleaning and Storage

NOTE!

 

Under no circumstances should you use any corrosive or abra-
sive cleaning agents, rough sponges or knives to clean the 
article. These could damage the surfaces.

1.  Disconnect the article from the USB cable or take the batter-

ies out of the article (see the “Inserting / Changing the Battery” 
section). 

2.  Clean the article with a soft cloth and a little mild detergent if 

necessary. 

3.  Thoroughly dry the article before it is stored away.
4.  Store the article in a dry place that is protected from sunlight 

and is not accessible to children and animals.

Disposal

Dispose of the packaging material in an environmentally 
friendly manner and take it to a recycling centre.

Dispose of the article in an environmentally friendly manner 
at a recycling centre for used electrical and electronic 
devices. More information is available from your local 
authorities.
Batteries should be removed prior to disposal of the article 
and disposed of separately from the article at suitable col-
lection points.
