INSTALLATION
It is imperative that the installation is carried out safely and correctly and it is, therefore, strongly
suggested that this work be undertaken by an experienced professional, familiar with building
construction.
Walls of various construction each require different treatment and different fixings. Please ensure that the
correct fixings for the various constructions are used.
The Back-Rest is designed to be used with belt type bath lifts such as Model CRM20059. Consequently
similar fixings used for the bath lift is recommended to secure the Back-Rest.
The Back-Rest comprises two main parts.
The cross beam tube slides into the slider arm tube to make an “L” shape. The channel is fixed to the
wall above the top of the bath and below the bathlift. The cross beam support with its roller rests on and
runs on tops of the bath rim.
The channel needs to be fixed to allow the cushion to be approximately 50mm (2 inches) away from
the belt of the bathlift when its slider is locked in position. Spacer washes are provided to ensure the
channel is distorted by uneven by an uneven wal surface. The cross beam can be adjusted across the
bath allowing the support roller to be run on the bath rim. Two screws and lock-nuts provide the locking
of the cross beam to the slder.
The cushion support can also be adjusted to centralise it with bath. Two screws under the support, lock
it on to the cross beam.
The roller support can be turned to adjust the height of the cross beam to allow the slider to move easily.
This is locked into position by the screw that attached it to the cross beam and a plate which, using a
grub screw under the cross beam, tightens the plate onto the roller support to prevent it turning.
Finally the angle retainer will be screwed onto the channel to keep the slider in position.
MAINTENANCE
The cushion on the Back-Rest needs to be kept clean by washing in warm soapy water. Do not use
detergents. Occasionally the sliding arm may require a polish for it to slide easier. A silicon spray
furniture polish may be used and wiped clean.
