Installer and Users please note: These instructions should be read carefully before use and this document
constitutes part of the product which should be kept safely by the user alongside the product.
BEFORE USE
You must inspect the device for any signs of damage. If the product is damaged, DO NOT use it, and contact
your supplier immediately.
PRODUCT SAFETY
Children shall not play with the device.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
For indoor use only.
Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.
Check the product before use for damage. If any damage is detected stop using it immediately and consult
your supplier.
GENERAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Domestic wiring must be tested periodically by a qualified electrician at least once every 10 years or at every
change of occupancy. For office and retail premises (and buildings such as village halls) the wiring must be
inspected at least once every 5 years. It is recommended that all buildings be fitted with smoke alarms (it is
mandatory for new buildings).
GENERAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Ensure power is completely disconnected before attempting installation.
2.
If using the new product to replace an old one, note the cable connections an wire up the new
product in the same way as the old one, with Earthing as stated in these instructions.
3.
Cables should be prepared so a sufficient conductor length reaches the terminal. Strip the ends of the
individual conductors so that an adequate length enters the terminals.
4.
Unscrew the top part of the pendant cover and route the cable through the hole.
5.
Slide the cable grip over the cable part that will be inside the pendant (you will not be able to attach
this once the terminal connections have been bade)
6.
Connect the Live and Neutral cables to the terminals.
7.
To assist with the correct installation, please consult the wiring diagram in these instructions.
8.
When connecting the new accessory, ensure that only the bare end of the wire enters the terminal
and no bare wires are visible. Always tighten the terminal screws securely, but do not overtighten.
9.
Pass at least one of the cables underneath the cable relief bar.
10.
Screw the top part of the pendant cover back on.
11.
Once work has been completed correctly, replace the fuse for the circuit, switch the power back on
and test. The product is now ready for use.
