Positions Mount Will Stay At.
The Up and Over Manual Mount has a range of positions the mount will
hold the TV at. The general range is shown in Figure 14. As seen, the
mount can be set to stay in the bottom/retracted position. If the
counterbalance is set correctly, the mount can be moved up to around 18-22
inches above the bottom position. The mount can always be moved to the
top position.
The lighter your TV the more positions the mount will stay at and the
higher it will stay above the bottom position. For lighter TVs (60 lbs and
under) the mount can stay closer to 22” or even more. For heavier TVS (80
lbs and over) the mount will only be able to stay about 18” from bottom.
Increasing the counterbalance force may allow for the mount to stay higher,
but it may not stay in the very bottom position. You will probably have to
push down on the TV to get it into the bottom position.
Under Ledge Mounting
When mounting under a ledge there needs to be enough clearance between
the TV and the ledge to ensure they will not clash when moving the TV up.
When mounting under a ledge, the most the TV will be able to go up and
stay is around 22” for lighter TVs and 18” for heavier.
The Clearance Between Ledge and TV table shows the minimum clearance
needed between the ledge bottom and TV top [C] (or the top of an attached
soundbar, whichever is higher), for the mount to be able to swing around
the ledge for different depths. To find the clearance needed, find the shelf
depth [D], in this example 8”, and go down the column and find the
corresponding minimum clearance height [C], which is 2.5 Figure 9 shows
where to measure [C].
Tips to get the Most Possible Upward Travel
Get the bottom of the mount and the bottom of the TV to be as close as
possible.
Adjust the Counterbalance so it takes the maximum reasonable force to
push the TV into the Bottom Position.
