Assembly
The assembly described is for retrofitting a single older model ARAV unit.
NOTE: Use
SS-30
on the joints between the antenna elements and on all
stainless steel hardware threads to prevent galling and to ensure proper torque.
Remove the AVA-2 from the existing black mounting plate by removing the wires connecting to the
wing nuts and the mounting hardware as shown on the next page. The old hardware, black plate,
brass antenna mount and U-Bolts with saddles will not be re-used. This retrofit kit supplies a new
black plate with new holes drilled for the new antenna and new hardware and connection wires to
ensure the assembly goes easily.
