2.1.2 The Front Panel
Once the faceplate is removed, you have access to the front panel.
The following figure shows a detailed overview of the front panel:

disk carrier (RFU) The disk carrier installed here is currently not
in use and thus empty. It is reserved for future
use (RFU).
DVD-ROM The DVD-ROM can be used, for example, for
software installations. Further information
about the DVD-ROM can be found in section
“DVD-ROM” on page 4-6.
controls Via the controls the system can be turned on
or off, and the LEDs display the system sta-
tus. Further information about the controls
can be found in section “Controls” on
page 4-7.
video hard disks The video hard disks are used to store your
video material. All disks can be replaced eas-
ily in case of a failure.
The audio data is stored together
with the video material on the video
hard disks.
