CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• Always unplug the cooktop from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
• Never immerse the cooktop, cord or plug in water or other liquids.
• Clean the housing of the cooktop with a damp cloth. Never use harsh abrasive or steel wool pads
on any part of the cooktop. Use dishwashing liquid in case of hard stains.
• Do not use an scratching cleaning agent.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
• DO NOT use an unstable pan. Use a pan with a fl at bottom to insure full contact with the hot plate
for maximum heat effi ciency. Do not use pans that are unstable and easily tipped.
• Do not touch the stainless steel housing when the burner is in use. The surface can become
very hot.
• The cooktop may smoke the fi rst time it is used. It is not defective and the smoke will burn off
within a few minutes.
• Do not leave the cooktop ON without any pots/pans on the plate.
• Avoid dropping any liquid on the plate for long-life performance.
• To quickly boil a large pot of water, close the lid on the pot to retain heat.
• It can take a long time for the cooktop to cool down after it is turned off. Do not touch the cooktop
until it is completely cooled down.
• Use the cool touch handles to move the cooktop when the unit is cool.
