Virtual COM Port Driver Installation for Windows 2000
Follow these steps in install the Windows 2000 VCOM driver:
1. Connect the USB cable between the host computer and the converter. If using a self-
powered converter turn on the input power source.
2. Windows will open a “Found New Hardware Wizard” window. Click Next to continue.
3. Select “Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)” and click Next .
4. Select “Specify a location” and click Next .
5. Click Browse to locate the “bdmrbus.inf” driver installation file. The default location is
the “C:\BaudMaster\BMUSB” directory. Once this file is selected click OK .
6. Verify that the correct path and filename are shown and click Next .
7. Click Finish to finish installing the “BaudMaster USB Composite Device”.
8. Windows will open a second “Found New Hardware Wizard” window. Click Next to
continue.
9. Select “Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)” and click Next .
10. Select “Specify a location” and click Next .
11. Click Browse to locate the “bdmrw2k.inf” driver installation file. The default location is
the “C:\BaudMaster\BMUSB” directory. Once this file is selected click OK .
12. Verify that the correct path and filename are shown and click Next .
13. Click Finish to finish installing the “BaudMaster USB to UART Bridge Controller”.

Follow these steps in install the Windows 98 VCOM driver:
1. Connect the USB cable between the host computer and the converter. If using a self-
powered converter turn on the input power source.
2. Windows will open a “Found New Hardware Wizard” window. Click Next to continue.
3. Select “Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)” and click Next .
4. Select “Specify a location”.
5. Click Browse to locate the “C:\BaudMaster\BMUSB” directory. Once this directory is
selected click OK .
6. Verify that the correct path and filename are shown and click Next .
7. Click Finish to finish installing the “BaudMaster USB Composite Device”.
8. Windows will open a second “Found New Hardware Wizard” window.
9. Select “Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)” and click Next .
10. Select “Specify a location”.
11. Click Browse to locate the “C:\BaudMaster\BMUSB” directory. Once this directory is
selected click OK .
12. Verify that the correct path and filename are shown and click Next .
13. Click Finish to finish installing the “BaudMaster USB to UART Bridge Controller”.
