Operation
Every time you turn the key from ON to OFF, the
protection system activates the engine block.
When the ignition key is turned back to ON to start
the engine, the following happens:
1) if the code is recognised, the immobilizer enables
engine ignition. Press the START button(2, Fig. 38) to
start the engine;
2) if the "Vehicle/Engine Diagnosis - EOBD" light
(8, Fig. 3) comes on and the page with the "Error"
message is displayed when you press button
(1,Fig. 9) in position B " " it means that the code was
not recognised. When this is the case, turn the
ignition key back to OFF and then to ON again. If the
engine still does not start, try with another black key.
If also in this case you are not able to start the engine,
contact an authorised Ducati service centre.
Warning
Strong impacts could damage the electronic
components inside the key. During the procedure
always use the same key. Using different keys may
prevent the system from acknowledging the code of
the inserted key.
