2. Models with tracking force adjustment done with the balance weight:
The CS610 is the only model of the 6xx series, where the tracking force is simply set
with the balance weight. Balancing and adjustment of the tonearm works as follows:
- Disconnect the turntable from
power.
- Put the balance weight on the
end of the tonearm, by turning it
like a nut and screw (right top
picture).
- Move the tonearm to the edge
of the platter and put the lift in
down position.
Attention, high risk of damaging
the stylus!! Be very careful, that
the stylus never hits the platter
during this procedure!
- Turn the balance weight until
the tonearm stays in the
horizontal position.
- Now hold the balance weight
and set the movable scale to
“0”. (lower picture)
- Set the value for the tracking
force by turning the balance
weight. The correct values for
different cartridges are listed in
my stylus list for the 6xx series.
- Now set the correct value for the
antiscating force. The values for
different cartridges are also
listed in my stylus list for the 6xx
series.
