Do not use any AC/DC adapter other than the one provided with the device or a replacement

acquired from the manufacturer.
In the unlikely event that smoke, abnormal noise or strange odor is present, immediately power
•
down the DT590IC/ DT590IB and disconnect all power sources. Please report the problem to
your device provider immediately.
Basic Features
The DT590IC/ DT590IB integrates a bright 19” display with op

onal IR touch, USB ports, and
is complemented by a suite of op

ons including a front camera and a smart card reader for
comprehensive point-of-care applica
ti
ons.
Powering ON and OFF
If your DT590IC/ DT590IB comes with the ba
tt
ery packs, please open the ba
tt
ery slot caps and
then put in the ba
tt
ery packs one by one. If not, please use the AC-DC adapter with the DT590IC/
DT590IB for the power supply. To ac
ti
vate the DT590IC/ DT590IB, push and quickly release the
Power Bu
tt
on and the display will come on in a few seconds. To put in Standby mode, push and
quickly release the Power Bu
tt
on. To turn o
ff
for extended storage, power o
ff
the device safely using
any so
ft
ware func
ti
on that “shuts down computer” provided in the so
ft
ware opera
ti
ng system.
NOTE:
The ba
tt
ery packs shipped with your device may be low in power—please use the AC-DC
adapter with the DT590IC/ DT590IB when se
tti
ng up the device for the
fi
rst
ti
me to fully charge
the internal ba
tt
ery packs. You may charge the external ba
tt
ery packs with them a
tt
ached to the
DT590IC/ DT590IB, or with the op
ti
onal ba
tt
ery charger kit.
NOTE:
When the ba
tt
ery pack(s) is (are) charging, the blue-colored Ba
tt
ery LED should blink slowly.
If plugging in the AC-DC adapter does not trigger this blinking ac
ti
vity and the LED stays dark, the
ba
tt
ery pack(s) may have been drained substan
ti
ally. Try unplugging/ replugging the AC-DC adapter
to the DT590IC/ DT590IB a few
ti
mes to ac
ti
vate the charging process.
NOTE:
To conserve power, use (push and quick release) the Power Bu
tt
on to put the device in
“Standby” mode while not in use. Pushing brie
fl
y on the same bu
tt
on will wake up the system
within seconds.
NOTE:
Avoid using the Power Bu
tt
on (“hold 4+ seconds” feature) to turn o
ff
the device—this form
of hardware shutdown is intended to be a means of recovery from device lockups, and not as
normal opera
ti
on.

WLAN adapter equipped with a hidden custom antenna.
Through the support of typical WLAN adapters, the The DT590IC/ DT590IB should be able to

detect all 802.11 access points in the vicinity for you to select the access point of your choice for
connec

on.
The SSID and WEP/WPA/WPA2 (if enabled) parameters on the DT590IC/ DT590IB and the access

points have to match. The SSID is case-sensi
ti
ve and it is recommended that you enable WEP/
WPA/WPA2 encryp
ti
on (or advanced alterna
ti
ves) for secure access.
When WEP/WPA/WPA2 is enabled, you may need to consult your network administrator or your

networking equipment literature to properly con

gure associated se

ngs such as Authen

ca

on
mode, etc.

ng up the 802.11 access points.

Bluetooth
The DT590IC/ DT590IB features a built-in Bluetooth adapter that operates on the Microso
ft
Windows Bluetooth protocol. The Bluetooth con

Tray or from the Control Panel. Follow the instruc

ons and op
ti
ons provided within the applica
ti
on
to con

gure and invoke Bluetooth connec

vity with the corresponding peripherals.
NOTE:
Bluetooth devices or accessories that are not compa
ti
ble with the Microso
ft
Windows
Bluetooth protocol may not work with the DT590IC/ DT590IB.
