Drop tolerates sub-zero temperatures extremely well when empty. The most
important thing in maintaining the Drop pool in the winter time is to make sure the
pipes never freeze.

Regularly remove any snow that has accumulated on top of the cover. At worst, a
heavy layer of snow can even cause the cover to break. In addition, we recommend
keeping the area surrounding the pool and a passage to the pool free of snow so that
it can be taken in use quickly when desired and it will be safe to enter the pool. In the
winter, the area surrounding the pool might be especially slippery when the water
splashing from the pool freezes.

The Drop pool can be used with just the stove in the winter. First, fill the pool above
the upper lead-in so that the water can enter the stove’s water jacket as well. N.B.!
Never heat the stove until you are completely sure that the water level is above the
upper lead-in and water can flow freely in the stove’s circulation. Please note that
heating the pool in the winter may take longer than usual.

Make sure that there are no embers left in the fireplace before emptying the pool.
Empty the fireplace of ashes before emptying the pool. The stove must be emptied of
water by using the base valve in its front panel. Make sure that there is no water left
in the hoses. Any water left in the stove or its hoses might damage the stove. Water
frozen in the hoses might cause a dangerous situation when the stove is heated the
following time and the water cannot circulate freely. Cover the pool when it’s not
in use. Prevent snow from getting inside the pool’s framework and make sure that
drainage water does not remain inside the pool’s framework. If the pool is partly
sunk into ground, it’s extremely important to plan the absorption of drainage water
as well as to support and insulate the walls of the pool. In sub-zero temperatures,
store the drain plug in a warm space.

Any damage caused by freezing is not covered by the warranty.
