Lid not fitted correctly
Not enough water in the kettle
Too much water in the kettle.
Kettle base is in standby mode.
The base is not on a flat

Your hand is adding pressure to

Refit the lid
Add water to the kettle.
Pour some of the water away.

Check the power cable is not
trapped under the kettle base
or move to a flat surface.
