The next step is maybe the most delicate one in the whole build. We will solder the push buttons.
WARNING 1: Make sure you do this procedure right, as if it goes wrong it’s very hard to repair this ,
unless you are very experienced with soldering/desoldering and you have some pro tools.
WARNING 2: They have a polarity that needs to be respected! If these will not be placed correctly, they
will get damaged!
The bottom side has a “+” sign, that must match with the square pad on the PCB.
You can also identify the “+” sign on the button as it’s shorter (not longer!!) than the other lead.
Additionally, the guide on the top should match the small hole on the PCB
Also the longer middle lead should match the cycle pad.
Once you are sure of the orientation, push them firmly down to their position.
WARNING 3: If the push button is not pushed correctly into its place, it could touch the aluminum panel
and this will not allow it to rest in the OFF position!
Too many WARNINGs? Yes, this is the most common mistake people make!
Find the slider potentiometers from bag 3.3 and solder them.
A nice tip to do this easily, is to solder the top pin from above, and then flip the board to finish the job.
Make sure they are completely straight (as all parts should be).
