Understanding Scan Results
7.1.1
After Jewelry or Loose Stones are scanned, J-Mini Pro software automatically identifies laboratory
grown diamonds or stones that may be LGD but require further investigation with alternate viewing
screens.
7.1.2
These stones are identified by means of boxes and circles that surround the diamond.
7.1.3
They may indicate identified laboratory grown diamonds or stones which require further review using
supplemental screens.
7.1.4
A key to these geometric identifiers is illustrated below.
This is a picture of a loose stone scan.
•
Note stones with Green-Box-Blue-Circle. These are known
laboratory grown diamonds.
•
Note the stones with Green-Box-Red-Circles. These stones
require examination under fluorescent light.
o
If they show
fluorescence
, they are
natural
.
o
If they
do not show fluorescence
, they are likely
laboratory grown diamonds
.
o
Examine them further under photoluminescent and
phosphorescent light.
•
Note that the machine counts the number of laboratory grown
diamonds, those that require fluorescent screening, and those
that require another scan or further testing.
