Sensing heads Polytron SE Ex PR NPT1 DD, Polytron SE
Ex LC NPT1 DD and Polytron SE Ex HT M DD:
z These metal housings need to be earthed at site by means
of the external PE-terminal, so connect the cable shielding
to the internal PE-terminal within the housing only.
z To avoid double earthing it is not recommended to connect
the cable shielding to the earth terminal of the rack system
or panel at the controller site.
The maximum cable length between sensing head and con-
troller depends on the cable’s core cross section and the con-
troller unit used:
Polytron SE Ex:
z Connect terminals 1, 2, and 3 of the sensing head with the
terminals 1, 2, and 3 of the Polytron rack system.
REGARD Ex:
z Connect terminals 1, 2, and 3 of the sensing head with the
terminals 10, 11, and 12 of the REGARD rack system.
z Having finished the electrical installation fit the cover secu-
rely to the body of the enclosure, observe correct fitting of
the gasket and ensure that the enclosure is free of dust.
