5 Troubleshooting
If the instrument malfunctions, an error message will appear. The number that
appears under the message is for service purposes. If the malfunction does not
disappear after switching the instrument on and off several times, then please
contact DrägerService or the distributor.
Malfunction/Error Cause Remedy
Instrument will not
switch on.
Battery flat. Change battery.
Volume too small /
sample invalid.
Test person is not blowing
strongly enough or with
interruptions.
Blow with more force and
without interruption into
the mouthpiece.
Instrument outside the
temperature range
Instrument is too warm or
too cold.
Allow instrument to cool
down or warm up.
(over range)
Measuring range has
been exceeded. Residual
alcohol in the mouth can
distort the measurement.
At least 15 minutes wait
time must have passed
since alcohol was last
consumed through the
mouth. (See Page 19).
To repeat, press button.
Volume too small Breath sample volume too
small.
Repeat breath sample.
Volume too large Measuring range
exceeded.
Repeat breath sample.
Sample disruption Irregular breathing out,
abrupt ending or breathing
in
Repeat breath sample.
Error number Instrument error Switch the instrument off
and on again. If the error
