DR POWERWAGON 5.0 Safety & Operating Instructions
Adjusting the Wheel Clutch
Note:
When properly adjusted, tension on the wheel clutch lever should increase when
the lever is about parallel to (almost touching) the handlebar grip.
Tools Needed:
(2) 1/2" wrenches
1.
Raise the dump bed to expose the wheel clutch adjustment bracket. (
Figure 32
)
2.
If the wheel clutch lever contacts the handlebar without engaging the wheel, tighten the
clutch by loosening the nut on the underside (threaded) of the bracket by 1/8" to 1/4",
and tightening the nut on the outside against the bracket. Check the tension on the
clutch lever and repeat the adjustment as needed.
3.
If the wheels engage before the lever is activated or the lever does not contact the
handlebar when activated, reverse the adjustment in step 2.
WARNING!
Before performing any maintenance procedure, stop the
engine, set the parking brake and disconnect the spark plug wire.
WARNING!
If clutch is over tightened, machine may lurch forward
when shifting into gear. Use caution when shifting into gear.
