RF MODULE INSTALLATION: See Figure 6.

7.1
Install the AWM681TX module. The pin side will be slightly raised above the
PCB and the RF input end must be mounted flush. See Figure 6 for details.
To assist in soldering the module, temporarily slide on the SMA-RP connector to
act as a clamp (but do not solder it). Once the module is correctly positioned,
solder its ten pins and four mounting tabs at the corners. Remove the SMA-RP.
Note: If the module does not sit correctly on the PCB, per Figure 6, then it may
be necessary to file its metal mounting tabs.

8.1
Slide the SMA-RP connector onto the RF
output. Do not allow the connector’s
center pin to short to the module’s metal
case (allow 50 mils clearance).

8.2
Carefully solder the center pin and all
four ground legs. Clean off ALL flux,
even if no-clean solder was used. Do a
visual inspection for solder shorts (do not
use an ohmmeter).

8.3
If the RF module is expected to be used
in an application that has vibration then it
is helpful to solder two diagonal corners
of the RF module’s top tin lid to the tin
metal base. This will help prevent video
noise.
