UNPACKING
Your BC109-SDC has been tested before leaving the
factory. If any part should be damaged in transit, please
return that part to us for immediate replacement. Each
carton includes:-
a) Machine
b) 4, No 8 x 1½" wood screws
c) Hair dryer
d) 4, No 8 wall plugs
e) Installation leaflet
SITING
The BC109-SDC is rated IPX0 and is therefore only suitable
for areas designated Zone 3.
The underside of the timer box should be the following
approx. heights from the floor, according to use:-
Mens Use 60’’ (1524mm) Ladies Use 56’’ (1422mm)
The unit must be fixed vertically to ensure correct operation
of the coin mechanism.
FIXING
Remove the money draw from the timer box. Remove the 2
screws on the under-side, holding the front panel in position
& slide out. Position the timer box on the wall, and mark
through the four fixing points. Drill the wall to suit the No 8
wall plugs (supplied). If the supply is to be concealed, drill a
hole through the wall, in line with the 20mm hole in the back
plate. Screw the timer box to the wall. Do not position the
dryer near another mirror as this will cause excessive
stretching of the hair dryer cable when used.
WIRING
Wiring must conform to the relevant electrical regulations
and a residual current circuit breaker (E.L.C.B) must be
fitted.
The 230 volt 50Hz supply must be connected to the
BC109-SDC via a double pole fused isolator having a
contact separation of at least 3mm between all poles, A 7
amp fuse should be fitted.
WARNING:- THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
Wire up the timer box as follows:
• The red or brown lead to the terminal marked L
• The black or blue lead to the terminal marked N.
• The green or green & yellow lead to terminal marked E or
It is recommended that the electrical installation is carried
out by a qualified electrician, and inspected every six
months.
TIMER ADJUSTMENT
Turn the timer adjustment knob clockwise to increase the
time and anti-clockwise to reduce it.
NOTE: The adjustment is between 1/2 minute and 3
minutes approx. (The factory setting is 2 minutes approx.)
COVER
Slide the cover back into position and fix with the 2 screws
provided. Ensure that the star washers are used, as these
maintain earthing to the front.
FILTER
Inspect the hair dryer filter periodically and, if necessary,
remove and wash in soapy water. Dry before replacing.
CLEANING HIGH CHLORINE AREAS
It is a known fact that stainless steel can show signs of
rusting in high chlorine areas, especially where high ambient
temperatures are involved. To minimise this, the stainless
case must be wiped down regularly. Do not use abrasive
cleaners. Due to this phenomenon the manufacturer will not
be responsible for this cosmetic occurrence
INSPECTION
The coily cable to the hair dryer should be checked
regularly, especially in high usage areas, for any signs of
wear, splitting or vandalism, especially at both ends. The
hair dryer case should be checked regularly for any damage
and the safety warning labels are still in place.
GUARANTEE
The professional hair dryer supplied is considered a
consumable item and is guaranteed against faulty
workmanship and materials for 6 months. This does not
cover vandalism or improper use. Any physical damage will
be classed as vandalism.
The Timer Box is guaranteed against faulty materials for a
period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Should any
part fail during normal use, within this period, just return it
for immediate repair/replacement.
