Figure I.6 shows an adapter/transducer combination that measures travel
at the base of the insulator column. A hex adapter (3/8" - 24 to 12 mm) is
mounted on the TR3170 rotary transducer and is attached to the rotating
element of the phase. The disc that drives the semaphore remains with
the rotary element. The transducer support plate is then attached to the
transducer using 5/16" bolts. The transducer or transducer support plate
assembly is then bolted to the aluminum casing at the base of the
insulator using 8 mm x 25 mm bolts in the tapped holes used for
screwing the cover on.
