  1. Purpose

Chase moles and voles from your property the

animal-friendly way, without the use of harmful

poisons, traps, etc.

This mole Repeller emits strong underground sound

waves to confuse and chase away these undesira-

ble critters. A solar panel charges the integrated

battery. A full charge ensures around 5 days of

operation, so that the device works even during

periods of bad weather.

The device has a range of up to 700 m

, depending

on substrate conditions. Other organisms living in

the ground, such as worms, are not affected by the

device. The sound waves emitted by the MVT-2 are

harmless to humans and pets. The device is easy to

install and weatherproof.

ƒ

Acts as a Repeller for moles, voles and other

critters using an animal-friendly method,

without poison or traps

ƒ

Effective due to wide-ranging sound waves

transmitted underground

ƒ

Does not affect children or pets

ƒ

Solar-powered battery lasts for up to 5 days

without recharge; no need to replace batteries

ƒ

 High-quality, weatherproof case made

from ABS plastic

ƒ

Suitable for outdoor use (IP65)

The Solar Mole Repeller MVT-2 is intended to be used to chase away animals such

as moles and voles in a harmless fashion. Any other use is not in accordance

with the intended purpose and leads to exclusion of warranty and liability. This

includes modifications and changes to the device.

  2. Proper Use

  4. Operating and Safety Instructions

ƒ

Do not leave packaging material lying around. Plastic foils/bags, polystyrene

parts, etc. can become a hazardous toy to children.

ƒ

The device is not a toy.

ƒ

Only use the device with the power supply listed in the technical data section.

ƒ

Do not install the device in areas where it can cause people to trip (e.g. play-

ground, sports field). If such a placement cannot be avoided, clearly mark the

device, e.g. with a small flag.

ƒ

Do not install in areas in danger of flooding.

ƒ

The device contains an integrated rechargeable NiMH battery. Do not break

the seal, otherwise moisture may enter the device.

  5. Installation and Operating Instructions

ƒ

Choose a location for the device to achieve a systematic deterrence of the

animals (see section 6 in this manual). In addition, the location should re

-

ceive as much sunlight as possible during the day, therefore you should not

place the device in an area shaded by trees or buildings.

ƒ

Prepare the ground prior to installing the device. For instance, pound a

wooden post into the ground to create a hole. The depth should correspond

to the length of the spike (around 210 mm).

Do not use the device to create a hole or you might damage the material in

the process.

ƒ

Completely insert the device into the hole such that the top slightly protru-

des from the ground, as shown in section 1. This ensures that the solar panel

receives sufficient sunlight. Do not use a hammer to insert the device into

the ground!

ƒ

Turn the device on by moving the switch on the side to the ON position.

The battery now begins to charge. As soon as it is sufficiently charged, the

device starts to emit sound waves at 30-s intervals.

ƒ

The device can be inserted into all types of substrates. It is particularly

effective in denser/heavier substrate (e.g. clay) because the noise will travel

as structure-borne sound. In lighter substrate (e.g. sand), the sound waves

are not transmitted as well, which has a smaller deterring effect on the

animals. Obstacles in the ground, such as building foundations, can greatly

impede the sound transmission. Small obstacles such as point foundations

or footings do not affect the sound transmission.

ƒ

Remove the device from the soil when there is a chance of frost or risk of

flooding to prevent damages to the device. In the winter months, moles and

voles are much less active, therefore you can temporarily remove the device

and reuse it in the spring.

SOLAR MOLE REPELLER MVT-2

Article No.: VAN000502

User Manual

Please carefully read this manual in its entirety before installing and using the device. Keep this
manual for your records and as a reference. If you hand over this device to be used by another
person, be sure to include this user manual.

  3. How It Works

The Solar Mole Repeller MVT-2 emits sound waves at set intervals (every 30 s)

which travel through the substrate and act as a Deterrent for moles and voles.

While the device does not prevent the presence of the animals, it ensures that

they prefer other areas. Thus, they will avoid any areas within range of the noise

emitted by the device.

How well the sound waves travel depends on the substrate condition and the

number of devices in operation. Multiple, strategically placed devices are more

like to have a deterring effect.

Important:

Animals react differently to the device, which is why we cannot guarantee that

the animals are chased away in every case.

However, a strategic placement (see section 6 in this manual) of the device usually

results in the animals leaving the area.

ƒ

The sound waves emitted by the device are audible to the human ear.

When using the device, be considerate of persons who may feel disturbed by

the sounds

We do not assume any liability for damages to property or personal injury due to

improper handling or for non-observance of the safety and operating instruc-

tions. In such cases, all warranty claims expire. We do not assume any liability

for further damages. Do not open the device, do not attempt any repairs and

do not make any modifications or changes – this will result in loss of warranty.

We do not assume any liability for further damages.

  6. Practical Tips

You can increase the chances of successfully deterring the animals by placing the

device in a strategic location. Use multiple devices to maximise your chances of

success by systematically chasing the animals from your property.

ƒ

Ensure that you place the devices so that the animals you want to keep away

are not trapped on your property. To do this, simply insert the mole Repeller

into the ground between the wall of your house and the closest mole mound

(see Figure 1).

ƒ

About every two weeks, move the mole Repeller away from your house and

closer to your property line. You should move the device as soon as you can

see that the mole mounds begin to appear further away from the house (see

Figure 2).

ƒ

If the mole mounds have not moved within 4 weeks, please ensure that the

device is working properly (see section 5 in this manual).

ƒ

Follow the gradually moving mole mounds by regularly moving the devices

until there are no longer any mounds on your property. Keep the devices in

operation at the property line to ensure that the animals keep away from

your property.

ƒ

When you move the mole Repeller, ensure that the solar panel properly pro-

trudes from the lawn (see section 5 in this manual) and is located in an area

that receives sufficient sunlight during the day.

ƒ

How long it takes for the mole mounds to move varies and can be influenced

by factors such as substrate condition. Foundations and concrete slabs can

also limit the effectiveness of the devices.

ƒ

Never place the mole Repeller directly onto or into one of their mounds.
