Thank you for buying a DLS subwoofer.
Install the subwoofer yourself if you feel confident
with our instructions and if you have the proper tools.
However if you feel unsure, turn over the installation job
to someone better suited to it.
This subwoofer is very flexible and can be used in “Open
Air”-installations (mounted in a baffle without a box
behind), in a vented enclosure, or a sealed enclosure.
Open air mounting
The subwoofer can be installed in a wooden panel. To
get the best sound result, the panel (baffle) should be of
strong MDF or Marine plywood, 19 mm or more. Use the
template to cut and drill.
Enclosure mounting
Build your enclosure in a stable and airtight material.
The best is MDF-board, 19 mm, or plywood. Larger
enclosures must have bracing inside to avoid vibrations.
The enclosure must be completely airtight. Use sealing
compound in all joints, also around the cable terminals.
Use the DLS MG10 grille (optional) to protect you sub-
woofer.
Break-in period
Allow the speakers to play at normal volume for at least 15-20
hours. After this time the performance is correct.

Warranty service
This speaker is covered by warranty, depending on the conditions
in the country where it is sold. If the speaker is returned for ser-
vice, please include the original dated receipt (or a copy) with the
product.
WARNING
While this speaker is specially designed for marine applications,
they are not fully waterproof which must be taken in consideration
when doing the installation.
Avoid an installation close to any magnetic compass, the spea-
ker magnets can influence the compass needle.

Safety Considerations:
Your speaker must be installed in a manner which does not
interfere with your vessel’s factory installed electronic devi-
ces. You should also take the time to securely mount them
so that they do not come loose in the event of a collision or
a sudden jolt to the vessel.
- Check before drilling any holes in your vessel to make
sure that you will not be drilling through the hull, a fuel tank,
fuel line, wiring harness or other vital vessel system.
- Protect all wiring from sharp edges (metal, fibreglass,
etc.) by carefully routing them, tying them down and using
grommets and loom where appropriate.

The subwoofer must be connected to an exter-
nal amplifier. DLS have two models of marine
amplifiers, MRA22 and MRA31, that works well
together with this subwoofer. How to connect
depends on what type of amplifier you use.
Follow the instructions given in the manual for
the amplifier. Most amplifiers today have built-in
low pass crossover and possibilities to connect
your subwoofer in bridge mode.
