Troubleshooting
Before requesting service for this AV receiver, check the chart below for a possible cause of
the problem you are experiencing. Some simple checks or an adjustment on your part may
eliminate the problem and restore proper operation.
Problem
Solution
• In stereo operation, the front speakers
right/left are interchanged.
• Mistake when connecting the speakers, please check the cabling using this
manual.
• Low-frequency humming or sizzling
• The speaker cables are running parallely to the power cord or close to
another source of interference causing electromagnetic interferences – pass
the speaker cables so that there can be no interferences.
• Not all speakers are working.
• Check whether all audio connections have safe contact.
• The balance setting may be incorrect, please check.
• Weak bases.
• The polarity of the speaker connections may be wrong, please check.
• The tone control could be detrimental in radio operation, please correct that.
• Operation with the remote control is not
possible any more.
• Check the correct po/- of the inserted batteries.
• The batteries are used. Replace them by unused ones.
• Point the control at the device when operating it.
• Don’t use the remote control if the
distance to the device is larger than
6 m.
• Remove possible larger obstacles between the remote control and the device
that might be an obstacle for the infrared rays.
• Much noise, low volume or distortion in
case of radio reception.
• The strength of reception of the station is too low. Try to switch to mono
in order to reduce the noise.
• Try to pass or position the antenna differently. Use an outside antenna if
necessary.
• The surround speakers don’t work.
• The surround function is switched off, switch it on.
• No stereo or surround audio source is reproduce; then, the surround spea-
kers
cannot
work.
• Check the cabling of the audio and speaker lines.
• The center speaker doesn’t work.
• The center speaker is only active in DOLBY DIGITAL, DTS or DOLBY PRO LO-
GIC operation. Switch the surround mode to one of these modes of operati-
on.
Disposal advice
When the operating life of this device has ended it must not be disposed as
domestic waste, but in accordance with national environmental guidelines.
