ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR CIRCULAR

SAW

1.If the supply cord is damaged have it replaced by a qualified person.

2.Do not use blades which are deformed or cracked.

3.Do not use saw blades made of high speed steel.

4.Do not use blades which do not comply with the characteristics specified in these

instructions.

5.Do not stop the blade by lateral pressure on the disc.

6.Ensure that movable guards operate freely without jamming.

7.Do not lock the guard in the open position.

8.Ensure that any-retraction mechanism of the guard system operates correctly.

9.Characteristics  of  saw  blades. Take  carful  note  of  blade  thickness  &  diameter  and

ensure it is suitable for the circular saw.

10.Do not use saw blades, the body of which is thicker, or the set of which is smaller

than the thickness of the riving knife.

11.Ensure that the riving knife is adjusted so that the distance between the riving knife

and the toothed rim of the saw blade is not more than 5mm. The toothed rim does not

extend more than 5mm beyond the lower end of the riving knife. The riving knife should

always be used except when plunging in the middle of the work piece.

12.For circular saws for woodworking it is advised that if used in confined areas dust

protection or separate dust collection system should be used.
13. Always use the appropriate safety equipment that is required for the product. e.g.
Goggles / Safety Spectacles, Ear defenders (essential with tools with a noise rating of
over 85 dbA), Gloves and face masks. In all cases ensure that the safety equipment is
in good condition.

Double insulation:

The tool is double insulated. This means that all the external metal parts are electrically

insulated  from  the  mains  power  supply. This  is  done  by  placing  insulation  barriers

between the electrical and mechanical components making it unnecessary for the tool

to be earthed.

Important note:

Ensure your mains supply voltage is the same as your tool rating plate voltage. Remove

the mains plug from socket before carrying out any adjustment or servicing.
